* These are our event opening times and not our session times.

How Do I Get There?

MABON is located in the grounds of Caldicot Castle just 10 mins off the M4 between Chepstow and Newport. It’s around 30 mins from Bristol and 40 mins from Cardiff. Sat nav address is Caldicot Castle, Church Road, Caldicot, NP26 4HU.

We always encourage you to carshare if you can — this will not only help with traffic, it’s also doing your bit for the planet! If you prefer to travel by train, the closest station is in Caldicot and Severn Tunnel Junction is a short taxi drive away.

From the West

  • Exit at Magor Services junction 23A.
  • Follow signs for Caldicot.
  • Follow signs for Castle.
  • Enter the Castle grounds via Church Street.

From the East

  • Use the M48 over the old Severn Bridge for a more direct route.
  • Enter the Castle grounds via Church Street.
Is It Easy to Get To?

Yes, the event site is very easy to get to. Follow the sat nav and enter the castle park grounds where you’ll be directed by signs.

Do You Have Parking?

Yes, located in a field in the castle grounds. Spaces are limited and you will need to book a pre-paid car park ticket online at the cost of £5. Your parking ticket is restricted to your session time.

Is It Dog Friendly?

Dogs are welcome on all sessions but at a limited capacity. It is essential to book a free dog pass online and adhere to the following requirements:

  • Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
  • Not everyone likes dogs, so only well-behaved dogs are welcome.
  • Bring your poop bags and make sure it’s binned.
  • If your dog’s behaviour is unruly or dangerous to other dogs or customers, you may be asked to leave at the discretion of the events team.
  • We reserve the right to turn dogs away at any time if we believe they are at risk of causing stress, anxiety, or danger to themselves, other dogs, or people on the day.
It’s Raining — Will the Event Still Be Running?

We open come rain or shine, and rest assured we have lots of undercover areas pitched under canvas canopies. These areas are protected from the weather, however not 100% waterproof — especially if the rain is horizontal! We are an outdoor venue so we strongly advise dressing appropriately for the weather. “There's no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothing.”

Do You Have a Time Limit on Reservations?

We run our event in sessions. Your session time will correlate to the time on the ticket. If you want to stay longer you can purchase multiple sessions or even let us know on the day that you need more time and we can try to fit you into the next session.

Can You Buy a Ticket at the Door?

It is strongly advised that you buy your ticket in advance as most of our sessions run at full capacity. However, we do take walk-ins and always do our best to squeeze you in if we can. We cannot guarantee entry if you haven't pre-bought a ticket.

Do You Give Ticket Refunds?

We do not offer refunds or exchanges on tickets.

We’re Going to Be Late — What Shall We Do?

It happens to us all, don't worry! As long as you arrive within your session time, you will be allowed onsite.

Can We Stay in Our Campervan?

We have a basic campervan field with toilet facilities which is £25 per night.
(Sorry, no tents.)

Do You Accept Cash?

We are a cashless event and we advise that you bring a card as well as a phone just in case you run out of battery. The Fire Kitchens are contracted not to take cash so we ask that you respect the event’s terms and conditions and be ready with your card.

How Do We Order Food and Drink?

Food and drink is ordered directly from the trader.

Are Children Welcome?

Although we welcome children within our day sessions, MABON is not orientated around family activity. Evening sessions are adult only, which will be clearly labelled as such at the time of purchase. Friday / Saturday night sessions are reserved for 16+ years. Children must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times. If you are attending one of the sit-down feasts, you will need to purchase a place at the table for your child.

Is the Event Wheelchair Accessible?

We have an accessible car park that is located very close to the site. Please advise the car park team on arrival. Once onsite, the ground, for the most part, is wheelchair accessible. However, due to the nature of the building, the banquet hall where the talks are hosted remains inaccessible to wheelchair users. Traders, food demos, feast tents are accessible and toilets are convenient. If you have any additional questions or requirements and would like to ask our team — we are happy to help. Do You Have Lost Property?

If property gets handed in or found onsite we will keep it safe for you.
